Abstract / Excerpt:

Like a person, Cagayan de Oro City this year comes of age. It is right and honorable that we should recount her past, point to her present and speak of her future. For the past gives us the wisdom that ensures stability the present offers witness to honest achievement; and the future lends grounds for hope that, with local identity as base upon which to build national identity, we shall yet achieve a truly national consciousness in a manner we need not rue in the years ahead.

In this brochure we shall recount the past of our City lightly to her present. We shall leave the future to be spoken of by others possessed with the gift of prophecy.
