What is MODA?
In recent years, computer scientists have developed powerful data mining techniques for analyzing huge data sets, leading to more accurate models that lend themselves to simulation and prediction. Such techniques could be used to good effect to evaluate, analyze, and model various aspects of Mindanao. These, in turn, can help translate into sensible policies for the region. However, accurate and up-to-date data on Mindanao has been difficult to get. While many universities and research agencies in Mindanao have already compiled data, there is no single repository to access the information. The Mindanao Open Digital Archive hopes to fill that gap.
What is ‘Open Data’?
Open data is data that can be freely used, re-used and redistributed by anyone – subject only, at most, to the requirement to attribute and share-alike.
