Abstract / Excerpt:
This thesis study expounds on Mandaya Literature. This thesis will shed light on a few important and evident, however somehow ignored, issues in the society today.First, it adds to the existing body of knowledge information about the Mandaya tribe that may not have reached far beyond the mountain walls of the tribal domain yet. The study shall unveil the beauty and elegance that is in the art of the tribe, most specifically in the literature. Second, the thesis shares the challenge the tribe faces today vis-?-vis quicksand-paced globalization. It tells how important it is to preserve a nearly dying culture.Lastly, this thesis study analyzes and reveals how the continued patronage and usage of the tribe's literature can aid in the preservation of the many components of the culture-eventually leading to the preservation of the tribe itself.
