Abstract: Study on the Student Team Achievement Division strategy in teaching Mathematics IV in Lt. Andres Calungsus Elementary School was conducted to determine the learning competence of pupils using the strategy thru the pretest and posttest. This study made 92 Grade 10 pupils as the respondent. The 92 pupils were distributed as Section A, Section B, 30 pupils and Section C, 29 pupils. the duration of the study is 10 days. Focuses on the two lweast learned skills identified for the Third Grading period. The instructional materials usedi n this particular study is the National diagnostic Test (NDT) conducted by the National Education Testing and Research Center (NETRC). Only the pretest and the posttest scores found significant difference with the STAD. The pretest learning Competence was 49 percent while the post test was 83 percent of the passing percentage. With the outcome of this study, the researcher concluded that using STAD strategy in teaching Mathematics would not only improve pupils academic performance but also improve the level of least learned competencies. Adequate teaches training; seminar skills in teaching using this strategy is recommended.
