Ramie (Boehmeria nivea (linn.) gaud) growth using rhizome and stem cuttings

Abstract / Excerpt:

The study was conducted in GEM Village, Maa, Davao City from September to November 1986. The treatments were planted in the experimental are using RCBD with 3 blocks for 60 days. Results showed significant differences in their growth. Rhizome gave an average 65.67% shoot emergence; 56.33% and 27.67% for the stem cutting with the first 3 nodes and the stem cutting with the second 3 nodes, respectively. Moreover, both stem cutting treatments gave their highest shoot emergence percentage on the third week after planting and the rhizome on the fourth week.
