This study is intended to knowthe different concepts of being a Filipino and social construction on Filipino nationalism of the mixed bloods. In this study, the mixed bloods are individuals that have one Filipino parent and one foreign parent. The researchers used in-depth interview (IDI) as the means of gatherig for this study. This stud employed the purposive sampling using the snowball technique. There are a total of thirty (30) mixed bloods as respondents whose age range from 18-24 years old and 15 of those are males and another 15 are females. Under the concept of being a Filipino, the respondents had expressed that being a Filipino can be seen through their culture and they practice common Filipino traditions. Next is the language they use, like speaking in Filipino. Another is through their physical attribution and lastly through legality like their bloodline - having a parent who is a Filipino citizen. For the Social Construction on Filipino Nationalism, the themes under it is inspired in the seven assumptions of the theory (Social Construction theory) used. In addition, according to the respondents in times of difficulties, their coping mechanism would always be by adjusting to the Filipino norms, knowing the Filipino language and by socializing. The researchers recommend that further study be done on different age range to capture different narratives and perspectives. Future researchers could also have different locale of the study. Instead of focusing only in Davao City, they could expand for more variation of answers.
