Abstract: This study sought to collect, record, translate, and analyze the Manobo folk narratives : myths, legends, and folktales. The objectives were to know the background of the livunganen-Arumanen Monobos, analyzes the values found in their folk narratives, and draw out the educational importance. The demographic area covered the Libungan and Midsayap municipalities, province of Cotabato, particularly in the barangay of Anonang in Midsayap; barangays of Barongis, Grebona, and Sinapangan in Libungan, and Libungan town proper. The narrative were collected from six informants who related their stories on tapes. One informant transcribed them in the Manobo language, then he translated orally in Visayan to aid the researcher in the translation to English. Collected stories were eight myths, eight legends, and eight folktales. Content analyses using Tomas Andres' definition of values revealed the common values found in the three types of the monobo folk narratives : religious, economic, social human political and cultural values which define the Manobo culture. The educational implications point out the researches and writings on the Manobo folk literature as tools for historical refererences, the collected folk narratives as adding materials for the academe, the Manobos appreciation of their identity and improved techniques of preserving their own literature, and improved techniques of preserving their own literature, and the academe as agent of change by clarifying desirable and undesirable values to the young.
