Abstract / Excerpt:
This study was conducted to analyse the film elements found in Lady Gaga's music videos' Judas and Love Game. Stefani Joanne Germanotta, famously known as Lady Gaga has been hitting up the charts and is continuously making her name known internationally. Lady Gaga's approaches to her music videos is unique and are post-modern. These characteristics has drawn several people into her likeness. The use of music videos gave rise to her career and influence.Love Game and Judas are one of the most popular music videos of Lady Gaga hitting more than a million views on Youtube. Lady Gaga's music videos are controversial due to some scenes that imply abuse, violent behavior, sexual promiscuity and homicide.The use of mass media through music videos by Lady Gaga could influence a very large group of people directly by injecting them with appropriate messages designed to trigger a direct response. The Hypodermic Needle Theory connotes the use of Lady Gaga's music videos can manipulate the audience and inject the information and the message that they want.Thus, this study concludes that the viewers are in danger of influence especially the young ones from possible messages forwarded by the music videos of Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga's music bombards the viewers with the messages identified in the study and forward the messages to viewers without them realizing that they are influenced by it.
