Abstract / Excerpt:
Objectives: The primary purpose of this study was to determine the impact of evaluation on the teachers' performance for the period covering three school years: 1996-1997, 1997-1998, and 1998-1999, on the areas of the personal growth and the instructional competence in the public central elementary schools and the PAASCU-accredited elementary schools in region XI.
Methodology: This study used the descriptive-analytical research design.
Conclusions: (1) The schools' ratings do not significantly differ with the ratings of the teachers. (2) The public central elementary schools showing a significant low relation, and a signficant moderate relation in the private PAASCU-accredited elementary schools. (3) There is a low correlation result. Although low or weak, the correlation nevertheless was significant. (4) The teachers and the school saw the development on similar ratings but moderately. The moderate correlation was significant. (5) There has been a significant effect of evaluation on the teachers' personal growth showing a significant strong relation between the public and private schools in region XI. (6) There has been a significant difference on the teachers' performance both in personal growth and instructional competence.
