Davao Artists Village: a study of ethnic designs and spatial disciplines

Davao, as one of the source of the most rooted, colorful, and genuine Filipino ethnicity, holds a great potential to be known for its local and creative talents. Artistic talents that were motivated and shaped by its spirited and diverse environment. It is a place that has it all, from its people to its mountains and seas, it is idyllic for an artist village that will show to the country and to the world the exuberant lifestyle of Davao. This calls for an Artists Village that provides a creative solution to the need for a sustainable physical setting that is conducive for learning, creating and appreciating art. It is strategically located at Eden 12 kilometers from Toril. It is more or less 1,000 feet above sea level and overlooking Davao City and Davao Gulf. It is an environment-friendly ethnic village depicting Davao's ethnicity using the designs and spatial disciplines of Ethnic Architecture in the structures. Specially designed to mix with nature that is simple, attractive, and comfortable with affordable shelter that does no harm to the Earth. It has spaces intended for meditation, learning and socializing activities. It is a place where artists can converge with other artists, and as well as an attractive for their works. A place built suitably for visual artists and aspiring talents with their various activities and disciplines in creating and learning arts. It is a place projecting tranquility that can be called a "heaven on earth".
