Abstract / Excerpt:
This study determined the status of implementation of child-centered instruction for multi-grade language classes of San Luis District II. It documented the problems encountered and their proposed solutions and the perceived needs and their recommendations to address the needs. Sampling was universal considering all the nine (9) multi-grade language teachers of San Luis District II. Quantitative-Qualitative design was used and weighted Mean (WM) was the statistical tool used. The results of the study indicate that among the multi-grade language teachers, child-centered instruction implementation in terms of traits id Fully Evident and in terms of goals of Child-Friendly School System was only Satisfactorily Evident. Based from the findings, the success of child-centered implementation among multi-grade language teachers of San Luis District II depends largely on the availability of enough school facilities and utilities. Since full implementation of child-centered instruction depends basically on the availability of school facilities and utilities, the researcher recommends that the training proposal made be adopted in order that child-centered instruction will fully be implemented by the multi-grade language teachers.
