A study on two relocation areas: Spring Valley and Tibungco

Abstract / Excerpt:

The study delves into the real situation of the relocated residents after demolition. This study provides information about the present conditions of the people at the relocation site in terms of the economic contribution of the government particularly on City Housing to uplift their conditions. The study also includes the support of cause-oriented groups and other non-government organizations and how they integrated with the urban poor families after the demolition. After having analyzed the condition of the relocated families, the study can aid in formulating and implementing mechanism for the development of the area, effect a more dominant role for government in land market specifically in making public land available for housing, and to keep the price of land within effective reach of the majority. In health and nutrition, the study can help by providing information on the prevention of certain nutritional deficiencies, give provision of simple health and nutrition information, and intensification of environmental protection by implementing a masterplan for sewerage system.
