The paper offers brief summaries of the available socio-demographic information and the origin of the name applied to the thriteen Muslim etnolinguistic groups in Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan. The geographic cultural milieu and the general socio-economic orientation and the name of each ethno-linguistic group illuminate the realities of the ethnic self-image and intergroups attitudes of the Bangsa Moro groups.
