Describes the outbreak of red tide occurrence which poisoned eleven people and are brought to Camiguin Island Provincial Hospital. Of this number, nine are confirmed as cases of paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP), derived from the local shellfish called 'banganga" or violate sanguin (Soletelina violecea). In 1992, data show that population of Pyrodinium bahamense var. compressum is high from July to December due to the unavailability of plankton net and that Pyrodinium bloom in September.
