This article narrates the story of army Lt. Col. Robert Amory who did a navy job in Mindanao when he lead an assault against the Japanese enemies. He evolved a unique weapon when he converted his landing craft, medium (LCMs) to gunboats and sailed the Mindanao river. Included is a map of Mindanao river that showed the route of the gunboat blitz.
