It has been noted that the ecological conditions of the Region is already alarming. The region has been experiencing symptoms of environmental stresses such as the recent flashflood in South Cotabato that practically wiped out a Tiboli Community. The situation calls for concerted environmental protection efforts to prevent further degradation of the environment that could threaten human life. Considering its mandate, programs, activities, facilities and strong force, MSU-IIT is in a vantage position to effectively influence the management of the ecosystem of the region. In this regard, the Institute is willing to play a major role in providing training to people who are directly involved in the planning and management of the ecosystem of the area.
