CERALVONetwork analysis: The case of the three ecosystems of Mt. Malindang

Annotation

The lecture mentions three network analyses the upland, lowland and coastal ecosystems. Minimal harvest of crops caused by many factors is raised as central issue in the upland barangays. It affects the lives of the people forcing them to engage in timber poaching and dependent to forest resources, denuding the forest and worsen soil erosion. Deforestation and soil erosion caused flooding and crops destruction that resulted to low productivity affecting the lives of people in the lowland barangays. It also damages rivers, streams and seas due to siltation and sedimentation, and fishing, the main livelihood of people in the coastal areas, declined. The lecturer share the Bio-diversity Research Program: Focused on Mt. Malindang, a research on its status, threats, conservation, and management practices in the northeastern watersheds to the coastal zones of Misamis Occidental province.
