The study presents the biophysical components as well as the socio-cultural aspects of Ligwasan marsh. Analysis of soil samples is still within the range where crops grow well. The texture of the soil reflects the influence of flooding and overflow from rivers and irrigation canals depositing sediments in the area. Water coming from four small rivers, Buluan river, and spring lakes and creeks are drained into the marshland. Water analysis shows that dry areas are slightly acidic while water form the swampy areas are less acidic.
