The study reveals that the mosses among the transect lines established comprise five orders, ten families, twelve genera and fifteen species. The identified species were: Campylopus umbellatus, Dicranoloma braunii, Breutelia arundunifolia, Pogonatum mavrophyllum. Sphanum junghuhnianum, Campylopus deversinensis, Leucobryum javense, Leucobryum neilgherrense, Pryyhobryum spiniforme, trismegistia subintegrifolia, Campylupos subericoides, Hypnodendron dendroides, trachyloma indicum, Ectropothecium ichnotocladum, and anomobryum gemmigerum. Among the mosses identified Campylopus subericoides is found to be the most dominant species while Leucobryum javense is observed to be the least. Ectropothecium ichotocladum on the other hand is found to have the lowest frequency.
