Abstract / Excerpt:

Conclusions: (1) "Yang Mangngagaw" possesses all of the essential elements of Philippinesian epic. (2) "Yang Mangngagaw" is a comic rather than a tragic epic. There are no casualties in the battle, and it has a happy ending with the reconciliation of the warriors.
