ABSTRACT: This study focused on the psychosocial processes that women victims of violence go through before, during and after filing a case and the women victims' perception about government and non-government interventions on violence against women. It also describes the women's positive and negative experiences with their perpetrators, their children, barangay, police officials and other significant people. In addition, it emphasizes the programs and services offered and provided by certain agencies for the respondents. The researchers used the descriptive research design and conducted an in-depth interview with the respondent admitted by the Luna legal Resource Center and the Integrated Gender and Development Division of Davao City. This study has found out that battered women who are admitted by the different agencies have in fact, similar experiences and coping mechanisms although they have different religion, age, civil status, economic status, and educational attainment. Based on the findings, this study recommends the improvement of the policies on violence against women and provision of better programs and services for the abused women.
