Teaching methods on diabetes self-care

Abstract / Excerpt:

Objective: The study aims to determine how comprehensive is the lecture method with the addition of videotapes as an instructional tool.
Methodology: The research design used in the study was descriptive type.
Conclusions: (1) The two groups classified in terms of age, sex and educational attainment, was a homogenous group. (2) The method which included the use of videotapes was more comprehensive. (3) The difference between the present self-care teaching method with the addition of a videotaped material and the traditional self-care teaching method presently used by Davao Doctors' Hospital Diabetes Center in terms of comprehensiveness is not significant.
