Student team achievement division in teaching Science IV / Emilia D. Mission.

Abstract: This study aimed ot evaluate the effect of STAD strategy in teaching science. Specifically this study seeks and find answer to the question, Is Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) strategy will improve the academic achievement of grade IV pupils in Science. The respondents were the 49 grade IV pupils of one class of Arakan Elementary School, Badiongan, Arakan Cotabato SY 2002-2003 were the subject of the study. The data gathered are results of NDT Pre-test and Post test. The statistical technique used ot determine the results were total scores, mean, mean percentage score (MPS) and standard deviation. T-test was used to analyze if there's a significant improvement in the academic achievement of grade IV pupils in science. The finding revealed that there is no significant difference in the academic achievement of grade IV pupils in STAD strategy.
