Abstract / Excerpt:

Objectives: To present scientific guidelines of growing pineapple at a specific area and climatic conditions, like Phillips, Bukidnon. Futhermore, as an agricultural student, the training was to gain actual work experience and collection of data in the field.
Methodology: The data collected in this report are arranged based on what we decided the most understandable by the readers.
Summary: The different Standard Operating procedures we have shown to you are presently practiced by the Philippines Packing Corporation in culturing pineapple crop. our set of data was almost complete, except we did not undergo operations on land preparations and crop protection due to the limited time granted during our Summer Practicum Program which was conducted last April 15 to May 30,1981. The scope of our study was taken from our day experiences while working with the different operations we have mentioned. We consider this report as your reference for further study of pineapple crop, since we included many important highlights to be remembered in growing pineapple crop. Such as the proper method of applying fertilizer at the particular age of the plant life. The proper way of planting pineapple seeds with the most appropriate planting distances. With this report w can visualize different overlapping activities at a specific time, and since, different operations were conducted monthly by the company but on different areas. Due to proper management, the Philippine Packing Corporation doesn't acquire much problem in culturing the pineapple crop. Since there are more than 28,000 acres covered by the company, they mange to divide this large area into sections and each sections is responsible to the area assigned provided with the necessities needed per operation by the main office. The company also provided free housing and hospital for their employees and the laborers including their dependents. They also implement a strict security supervision for the safe of their community and the company in general.
