Abstract / Excerpt:
Objectives: This study aimed to determine the selected physico-chemical characteristics of Senbel CME, B(100) and blends of B(2), and B(10) of CME and compared these with standards set by Bureau of Product Standards (BPS) and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
Methodology: Samples of this study consisted of experimental CME B(100), B(2), B(10) and Senbel CME as control which is also pure.
Conclusions: (1) Senbel CME, B(100), B(2) and B(10) have 0.5021=9.9x10, 0.1509=2.5x10, 0.02416=7.4x10,0.04181=9.5x10 mg KOH/g sample acid number. (2) At 60 F or 15.56 C Senbel CME< B(100), B(2), B(10) have API gravitty of 28.68=9.0x10 API respectively. (3) At 12.7=1.2,25=0.0 and 4.0=0.6 C, Senbel CME, B(100), b(2) and B(10) respectively will show first appearance of wax crystals or cloud point. (4) Kinematic viscosity of Senbel CME, B(100), B(2) and B(10) at 40 C are 3.532=4.1x10,3.412=5.9x10, 3.395=4.6x10 mm/sec respectively. (5) Senbel CME, B(100), blends of B(2) and B(10) CME agree with the standard limits set by ASTM and BPS. (6) Based on the results of the study, CME can be a good alternative and additive to diesel fuel since it passed the standard limits set by ASTM and BPS.
