SEDP program instruction : its effect on the academic achievement

Abstract / Excerpt:

Objectives: The study aimed to assess the effect of the Secondary Education Development Program (SEDP) on the academic achievement of first year college students of St. Mary's College. The study sought to answer the questions: (1) Is the a significant difference between the academic achievement of the 1993 graduates, non SEDP users in each of the following subject areas in college: Science I, Mathematics I and English I. (2) Is there a significant difference between the academic achievement of the 1994 graduates, the second batch of SEDP users and the 1992 graduates, the last batch non-SEDP users in each of the areas mentioned above? (3) Is there a significant difference between the academic achievement of the 1995 graduates, the third batch of SEDP users and the 1992 graduates, the last batch of non-SEDP users in each of the same areas enumerated above? (4) Is there a significant difference in the academic achievement of the three batches of SEDP graduates in each of the areas mentioned above?
Methodology: The method used was descriptive as well as inferential method of research.
