Abstract / Excerpt:

Undergraduate thesis of Shara Pampay M. Abpi, Cristine Raphaela A. Conejos, Diana L. Olarte, Jose Daniel B. Silo, Rochennie S. Sudario and Farrah Clare Z. Villaroman entitled " Qualities of a Therapeutic Nurse: Student's Perspective." This study was done to find out if there is a correlation between theoretical background and application of the qualities of therapeutic nurse and to test if there is a difference between the perception of a student nurses about affection, cognition and skills as therapeutic qualities when they are grouped according to age and gender. Mean percentage, T - test, One-Way Analysis of Variane (ANOVA) and Pearson-Moment Product Correlation, was used to as the statistical treatment of the study. In the end, result showed that there is a significant relationship between theoretical background and application of the qualities of a therapeutic nurse. Since the p-value is less than of significance, it means that there is significant relationship between theoretical background and its application to the therapeutic nurse based approach. Therefore, the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant relationship between theoretical background and application of the qualities of a therapeutic nurse is rejected. Since the p-value that 0.05 level of significance. It means the perception of male and female on affection, cognition and skills as therapeutic qualities for patients are the same. Therefore, the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant difference on the perception of nurses on the affective, cognitive, and skills as curative measures for patient when they are grouped according to their age and gender cannot be rejected.
