Abstract / Excerpt:
This research paper is entitled " Preferences of Three Funding Agencies in Mindanao in the years 2000-2004". It aimed to study the sector's and the region in Mindanao that the projects of Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) are concentrated in. This study used document review, maps analysis, and in-depth interviews through both personal and e-mail correspondence. The study found out projects of ADB seems to lean towards the economic sector and are well distributed throughout Mindanao. It also showed that all JICA projects seem to be in the social sector and are found in the ARMM region. Projects of USAID are mostly in the sectoral sector, although in ARMM, there are more infrastructure projects than social projects. In the course of the study, the researchers found out that better monitoring and coordination of projects in Mindanao can help in maximizing the funding coming in.
