Abstract / Excerpt:

Objectives: This study presents several pointers on pasture establishment and management, particularly under Mindanao climatic conditions. It is also one way of relating classroom instruction with actual field conditions; to acquire additional knowledge and skills in livestock production and to have view on the research, extension and training programs or practicum of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Methodology: During the practicum in Malaybalay Stock Farm in Dalwangan, Malaybalay, Bukidnon information on pasture establishment and management were garnered through ocular observation of routine farm practices, involvement of salient aspects of farm operations, interviews and lecture of personnel, and reading of research reports.
Conclusions: To have a successful production - good pasture area and healthy animals - especially with the government project, pasture establishment and management should be in the best of everything. And all these very important things can only be concretized or pushed through when there is enough funds.
