Abstract / Excerpt:

The study investigated the level of media literacy of Ateneo de Davao University students and its relationship on their assessment of Wikipedia's credibility. A quantitative, non-experimental correlation research method was used to determine the relationship between the two variables. The study was conducted with the use of a researcher-made questionnaire and had produced the result that the level of media literacy and the level of Wikipedia's credibility for Ateneo de Davao students was high. it was found out that there is no significant difference on the level of Wikipedia's credibility when analyzed according to age and gender and course. There was also no significant difference on the level of media literacy according to gender and course. However, it was found out that there was a significant difference on the level of media literacy when analyzed according to year level. Finally, the findings revealed that there was a significant and positive relationship between the student's level of media literacy and their assessment of Wikipedia's credibility.
