Management of conflict in nursing schools in Region XI

Abstract / Excerpt:

Objectives: To determine (1) the types of conflict common among nursing schools in region XI; (2) the outcome of conflict common among nursing schools in Reg ion XI; (3) the effects of conflict on the clinical instructors; (4) the management approach to conflict made by administrators of nursing schools; (5) the perceived form of management approach of conflict made by clinical instructors.
Methodology: This research work used descriptive survey type of study.
Conclusions: (1) The common type of conflict in nursing schools in region XI was the substantive type of conflict. (2) The common form of conflict in the nursing schools in Region XI was the dysfunctional form. (3) The conflict had caused a slight strained relationship between clinical instructors and administrators. (4) The common approach to management of conflict used by the administrators as perceived by clinical instructors. (5) The approach to management of conflict made by the clinical instructors was likely to be the accommodating approach.
