Abstract / Excerpt:

Objectives: The study aims to determine the learning style preferences and their relationship to personal and family related factors of the college freshmen of the Davao Doctors College (DDC).
Methodology: The study uses the stratified random sampling with proportional allocation. The chi-square test for independence was employed to determine the significant relationship between independent and dependent variables. To measure the extent of relationship in contingency tables, Cramer's V or C-coefficient is used.
Conclusion:There are no significant relationships between the student's learning style and age, sex, school graduated (private or public), language spoken at home, hobbies and interests, mother and father's educational attainment. However, there exist a significant but negligible relationship between students' learning style and family income.
