Abstract / Excerpt:
Spelling and grammar checking identifies texts that are grammatically incorrect and wrongly spelled by the user. This study develops a framework for the implementation of spelling by the user. This study develops a framework for the implementation of spelling and grammar for Filipino. It survey available technologies - software and past researches. The study explores design on existing software and how they are implemented. It also delves into Filipino grammar, how it works and how it is defined. The complexity of Filipino language is analyzed in this study. Moreover, this study explores compiler concept: parsing and lexical analysis. Parsing involves breaking down the sentences into primitive parts of speech. Lexical analyzer segment character string into a sequence of words also known as lexical units or lexemes.
Consequently, the study includes the methodology in creating a spelling and grammar checking application for Filipino.
