Abstract / Excerpt:
This study is focused on the Level of Reading Program Implementation and its association with the Reading Proficiency Level of Pupils in the 17 complete elementary schools of Tarragona District. This study was conducted in Tarragona District, Tarragona, Davao Oriental. The respondents were 17 school heads, 6 reading coordinators and 3890 pupils. The researcher used both quantitative and qualitative research designs in the study. It was found out that majority of the pupils belong in the instructional reading proficiency level both in English and Filipino. The study also revealed that the 17 schools have a mean of 2.05 or an average implementation level of the reading program. Further, the study showed that there is an association between the level of reading program implementation and the reading proficiency level of pupils. Informants also described in this study how their reading programs are implemented based on Objectives, Resources and Implementation Practices.
