Furry animals as emotional stress relief among animal enthusiast

Abstract / Excerpt:

There had been a number of researches that investigated on emotional stress relief. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of furry animals as emotional stress relief among animal enthusiasts. To gather the needed data and information, the study was conducted at a veterinary clinic in Davao City. The researchers chose respondents who are dog owners and have eight-hour workloads five times a week and are likely to experience emotional stress and are those who are members of a Davao City based organization compromising of animal enthusiasts The researchers employed the non-random sampling; characteristics of respondents will be set down in choosing the samples. A self-made and validated questionnaire was developed by the researchers with the help of an expert. Weighted means were computed to analyze the answers of the participants. The results showed that the respondents experience relieved emotional stress. This in turn benefited the animal enthusiast ways in reducing their emotional stress. On the other hand, this can be considered as another alternative in relieving emotional stress. Furthermore, there was a significant relationship between furry animals and emotional stress relief among animal enthusiast, Therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected.
