Abstract / Excerpt:
Objective: This research attempts to study factors that affect the consumption expenditures of household in Poblacion, Davao City.
Methodology: The researchers used the Descriptive and Correlation method of research.
Conclusions: An increase in income resulted to an increase in food consumption and expenditure, increase in clothing expenses, increase in education expenses, and an increase in recreation expenses. The bigger the household size, the lower the rate of the household consumption expenditures and the average consumption expenditure of a nuclear household was lower compared to the extended type of household. The bigger the number of the dependency burden, the bigger the total household consumption, Thus, they were positively related.
