Davao City councilors’ awareness and perceptions toward Davao City women development code

Abstract / Excerpt:

Objectives: The purpose of this study is just to establish awareness and perceptions of the City Councilors of Davao City Women Development Code. The specific are as follows: 1. to identify the socio-demographic profile of the respondents 2. to determine the awareness of City Councilors towards the Davao City Women development code 3. to present the perceptions of the City Councilors toward the Davao City Women Development Code 4. to determine the gaps or discrepancies in the code as perceived by the Davao City Councilors.
METHODOLOGY: This third chapter covers the type of the study, locale of the study, unit of analysis, sampling procedure, data collection, variables and measures, and data analysis.
Recommendations: The findings of the study show that most of the respondents are very much aware of the Davao City women development code. However, there is still a need to increase their level of knowledge, especially to those who are newly elected public officials so that it would increase the efficiency of the Davao City women development code and will the properly assimilated and disseminated to the constituent of Davao City. Moreover, there is a need for a periodical assessment with regards to the effectiveness of the code by the city councilors themselves to further strengthen it. Base on the following findings, these are based on the perception of the respondents themselves.
