Abstract / Excerpt:

The subsidy for Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC), a non-profit state enterprise under the Ministry of Transport and Communication, will gradually be eliminated. This research hoped to enhance the competitiveness advantage of CATC either by increasing the revenue yield for sustainability. The features on features on education of this study aimed to evaluate the quality of education, public image, and education production. The research determined the critical determinants on the quality and competitiveness of CATC with respect to the concerned factors. The study established the extent of the relationships of affirmed variables. Using SWOT analysis to analyze the data from respondents, the researcher came up with a strategic plan. Data gathering was done with the use of a questionnaire. Generated data were processed with the use of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) while applying Pearson's Coefficient of Correlation and One-Way ANOVA. Researcher came up with the following conclusions: CATC was sustainable under previous conditions (with government subsidy), the image of CATC is usable as an advantage for the future strategic plan, customers choose educational institutions based on future career and income, training should be performed strictly under the regulation of ICAO with the improvement of facilities both in quantity and in quality (to include proper maintenance). The results of this study also implied that respondents consider CATC as an educational institution offering quality instruction in terms of method, technique, and equipment. They also that students get fair value for their tuition fees in terms of equipment and services received. The SWOT analysis presented the activities and limitation of the time of planning. These activities were based on the current structure of the organization. CATC also needs to expand the policies on scholarship to individuals for aviation education field.
