Corporate strategy for Meadow Lark

Abstract / Excerpt:

This study aimed to propose a corporate direction for Meadow Lark which was formulated after analyses of the firm's internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as the external environment within which it operated. It attempted to provide the owners/managers of Meadow Lark with a corporate strategy which they could implement during the five-year period from 1990-1994 with the expectation could better hurdle the corporate challenges it would face within the nezt five years, in an industry where generally seat-off-the-pants or "intuitive" management was the rule that the exception. Methodology: The Methods were adopted: interview of the personnel of Meadow Lark and review of policies, financial records, and related correspondence. The researcher followed the format of an operations audit using different checklists and a questionnaire for this purpose. The different checklists were the following: management audit, marketing audit, financial audit, and production audit. The checklists served as guide for the researcher in interviewing the owners of Meadow Lark.
