Clinical Instructor’s Caring Behavior and the Academic Performance of Nursing Students

Abstract / Excerpt:

Objectives: This study aimed to identify the relationship between the clinical instructors' caring behaviors and the academic performance of nursing students in the two Colleges of Nursing in Tagum City.

Conclusions: (1) On the mean rating and standard deviation of the caring behaviors of the clinical instructors, the nursing students rated them moderate; (2) On the academic performance of nursing students, the level is good. (3) The level of the caring behaviors of the clinical instructors is significantly related to the level of academic performance of the nursing students. (4) There are significant differences of the nursing students' perception on the level of caring behaviors of their clinical instructors when grouped according to curriculum level, gender, and academic performance.
