Changes in Kidapawan City after its city hood

Abstract / Excerpt:

Objectives: (1) determine the changes in Kidapawan from year 1995-2002 in terms of a) income and expenditures b) legislative performance of the local government c) health and sanitation d) peace and order situation (2) determine whether there are significant changes in Kidapawan year 1995-2002 in terms of a) income and expenditures b) legislative performance of the local government c) health and sanitation d) peace and order situation.
Methodology: The study used the descriptive research design combining the use of qualitative and quantitative approaches.
Conclusions: There is a significant increase of income that had led to the improvement of the delivery of basic services to the people. With the said increase, infrastructure, water system, roads and bridges, school buildings, solar dryer, irrigation, livelihood assistance were put up to meet the needs of the constituents. In terms of health and sanitation, there was an increase of budget from the government. City health officials had exerted more effort to improve the medical services in order to meet the demands of the growing population of the city. The legislative performance of the city had improved after it became a city since the city legislative body exerted more effort in improving the formulation of ordinances as well as its implementation. As far as the number of crimes solved and number of crimes committed are concerned, unlawful acts are slowly decreasing due to the support of the city leaders in maintaining peace and order such as putting up group of people who are tasked to monitor the specific area and the use of O-N-E approach the peace and order in Kidapawan have improved after its city hood.
