Abstract: This study focused on the CAED 110 teachers' competence and students' reading comprehension. Specifically, the study attempted to seek answers to the following questions : 1) What is the level of competence of CAED 110 teachers based on their educational preparation, seminars/ trainings/ workshops attended, and classroom management? ; 2) What is the reading comprehension level of the students in the pretest and the posttest in getting the main idea, noting details, inference, and vocabulary? : 3) Is there a significant correlation between the CAED 110 teachers' competence in terms of educational preparation, seminars, and classroom management and the students' achievement in reading comprehension in terms of getting the main idea, noting details, inference, and vocabulary? The study was descriptive and correctional. The competence of the CAED 110 faculty varied in terms of the different indicators ; there is no significant correlation between the teachers' competence indicated by educational preparation, seminars attended, and classroom management and the students' achievement in the four areas in reading comprehension.
