Abstract / Excerpt:
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: In the nature of the competitiveness of business in this modern time, strategic management is a tool that can be utilized by the management in specifying an organization's objective, developing policies, and plans to achieve these objectives, and allocating resources so as to implement the plans. The automotive industry has been badly affected with economic and political turmoils. Despite the competitiveness of the product, Hyundia Southern Mindanao Inc. is not able to utilize the full sales potential due to current trend. This paper will provide the company of strategic options based on the critical success factors identified by the researcher. The preliminary chapter presents a brief overview of the subjects and the company being evaluated while the review of the related literature discussed the development of Strategic Management in business and an overview of the auto industry in the Philippines. The internal analysis (IA) discussed on the existing department vital to the company. A brief history of the company as well as it suppliers is presented. From the internal analysis the strengths and weaknesses are identified. The external analysis (EA) tackles issues on the economic, political and policy trends/issues on a national level due to the fact that the automotive industry is mostly affected by factors on a national scale. The trend in the local setting does not affect the trend of car sales. The proposed strategies discussed the results of the IA, EA and Tows Matrix from which core strategies are derived to be used for the QSPM. The QSPM provides specific strategic options to be presented and evaluated by the company for implementation.
