A study of the gold mining industry in Region XI

Abstract / Excerpt:

Objectives: This study aimed to determined the volume of gold produced by miners in Region XO vis-a-vis the volume of gold purchased by the Gold Buying Station at the Bangko Sentral-Davao Regional Office, to present strategies on motivating miners to sell all their gold produce to the Bangko Sentral, as mandated by the People's Small-Scale Mining Act of 1991 (RA 7076) and the Philippine Mining Act of 1995 (RA 7942) and to present relevant issues which affect gold production in the region in order to aid the government and its agencies in legislating laws and improving existing polices which regulate the gold mining indutsry in Region X1. Methodology: This study used the descriptive method of research. Since the present research is a status study, the normative survey was used in collecting primary data.
