Abstract / Excerpt:

This book explores the interaction between retirement and tourism in providing a community for the retirees in the Philippines. Considering the basics of psychological and physical aspects of aging, the social structure of retirees, the standard American spaces, the tourism promotions, and the sustainability of the design in providing a retirement village adopting the Filipino Architecture. It presents a detailed description, and analysis, and architectural interpretations and solutions of an ideal retirement village in the present world.
