Abstract / Excerpt:

The name of the firm is Suawan Integrated Farmers Cooperative (SIFCO), located in Suawan, Marilog district, Davao City. The Philippine dairy industry is virtually underdeveloped. Efforts to develop the local base for the dairy industry have been dampened by the influx of powdered milk coming from dairy producing countries where agricultural policies protect domestic producers and where its surplus milk is dumped in the international market. Unfortunately, the Philippines is just one of the dumping grounds of surplus milk. Ninety-nine percent of our total dairy supply comes from other countries.
