Abstract / Excerpt:

The primary objective of this study is to determine the feasibility of setting up a first class memorial chapel (funeral parlor) composed of seven air-conditioned viewing rooms, each room with its own individual family room of first class facilities. As a secondary objective, it aims to alleviate the bereaved family of emotional stresses and the time of need. Methodology: To achieve the objective of this study, interviews were conducted with different top level personnel of life plan companies, mortuaries in Manila and Davao, a casket manufacturing company, the Davao City Health Department, the Davao City Planning and Development Board, and the Davao City Civil Registrar's Office.
