A feasibility study for a subdivision development project for a cooperative

Objectives: It attempted to seek the answers of the following questions: What are the socio-economic characteristics of the project participants? Is the project site feasible to answer the physical and social needs of the project participants? Is this service cooperative movement feasible to undertake a subdivision development project? Methodology: The descriptive method of research was used in this study. Summary & Conclusions: The survey revealed the marketing readiness of the subdivision development project because the members of the cooperative are automatic buyers. It also showed that they can afford to pay monthly amortizations. The project site is 500 meters far from the hospital. It will be developed into a subdivision of the employees. The total project cost is one million two hundred ninety-six thousand two hundred seventy-three only. It gives a 25 percent return on investment. The employees and the hospital are benefited by the subdivision development project. The findings of the survey revealed 74 percent married employees There are 64 percent female employees and 36 percent male employees. It also showed that 65 percent of the total respondents have children. There are 55 percent of the respondents who do not own a house and lot. Likewise, 59 percent live in the poblacion and outside the poblacion. The survey also showed that 54 percent of the respondents are non-professionals. These respondents also stayed in the hospital from three to 15 years. Only 72 percent owned a parcel of land. This justified a high percentage of the respondents who need houses. They would also desire for a permanent residence near their working area. Finally, the respondents are financially capable of paying their monthly amortizations. The project site is located near the hospital. It offered advantages to the employees. They are transferred from their present living condition to a community of their own. The development plan provides community services and facilities such as parks, playgrounds & commercial centers
