Develops two linear programming models for the sustainable harvesting of bamboo. "Kawayan Model 1" is used to determine the sustainable yield and the largest yield of bamboo without depleting the bamboo stand. "Kawayan Model 2" is used to find the harvest rate that maximizes yield in the most profitable yield. Parameters for the model are obtained from the eight hectare pilot plantation of the Bamboo Research and Development Project in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
