Thermal and geochemical studies of some hot springs at Dinaig, Maguindanao, Philippines

Annotation

The results of the preliminary assessment of the potential of thermal areas at Dinaig as possible sources of geothermal energy are presented in this paper. Results showing low concentration of SiO2, low Cl with respect to SO4 and low K with respect to Na suggest low subsurface temperatures. Benolot Hot Spring Number one obtains the highest value. Heat flow is low and because of this, the power potential of Benolin only amounts to about twenty KW.
